The Climb

Okay, short post here, but interesting news...

First of all, I stumbled upon a couple blogs today with interesting info...If you visit this blog:

you can receive one of two RAKs just for visiting.

Also, between May 2-8th the Mosy Scrapper Store is selling kits for 50% off. Original prices are around $28 and they look really cool. I especially liked the Hootie and Fiona, just from the looks.

Finally, I have been just thrilled with my KraftGirlsKit experience. If you haven't checked out these kits, you MUST. Take a look at some of my recent layouts made with the April Kit. They are located at the top of this post, because I am too lazy to rearrange the elements on this post. I adore the collections! Kudos to my friend, Pam, who comes up with these fabulous combinations! She is expecting her second baby (but first boy) in a couple months and I wish her nothing but happiness!

The birds

Guess what? We're expecting again!'s not what you think. I'm not the pregnant one this time....
A robin has decided to make her nest on the windowsill outside of my laundry room window. I can't believe the amazing construction of this nest. It is perfectly round and so well put-together. She gathered all of the straw/grass/garbage from our garden. We watched her add a little to it everyday for about a week.

Then, one day I peeked inside the nest and noticed that there was one perfect, little egg inside the nest. The color is so vibrant. I now understand what people mean when they say "robin's egg blue." It is truly a one-of-a-kind hue.
So, the next day, the kids and I went to check on the egg and to our surprise, there were two! Momma Robin has obviously been quite busy! LOL So, we have been keeping our eye on the eggs and checking to make sure it doesn't blow off of the sill.

Then, much to our amazement, there were three. We were so excited. We feel some sort of ownership over this little nest, sitting on our windowsill. We each take turns peeking in the window to make sure the eggs are okay. When Momma Bird is nesting, we are sure to avoid the laundry room altogether, so we don't upset her.
Yesterday we had some pretty bad rain storms here and Momma Bird sat on that nest all day, protected from the wind and rain by the small overhang above the window. We kept checking on her, without her noticing us, so that she would be okay and so would her unborn babies.

I googled the gestation of robin eggs and found out that they take 12-14 days. It's been about 4 or 5 up to this point, so I will keep you posted. We are hoping for three healthy, happy, baby robins!

Happy 5th Birthday, Lily!!

My little baby is five years old! Hard to believe, but it's true.
Lily celebrated her birthday with her friends on Sunday. She had a Hannah Montana birthday party. The girls started the party by giving each other manicures.
In this picture, Lily is devouring the Hello Kitty on the top of her cake. LOL... Of course, these pics are slightly out of order, so here the girls are watching Lily open presents. She really cleaned up and got lots of great gifts!
Oooh...a home for bugs that she collects outdoors. Yucky!

Blowing out all of those candles is hard work, isn't it?

Here, the audience is watching the magic show by Marvelous Matt the Magician.

Isn't she a doll?

Nail painting festivities....

Here's that awesome Magician, practicing his stuff...

Happy Birthday, Lil!

Easter 2009

Easter at our house. Jackie came a little later and played with the kids. These pics may be out of order. As you can see, Zoey got two teeth this week and is drooling like crazy. All of her clothes were soaked around her neck from the massive amounts of drool she produces!

We had a really nice Easter...quiet, at home, with family. We decided to try some pics of the three kids but Zoey is not all that cooperative anymore. She wants to wiggle, squirm and sit up on her own. LOL Here are a few of the best. Which one should I enlarge for scrapping?

Here is Matt with Grandpa and Grandma...

and with Great Grandpa...

The insane amount of desserts we had (and don't mind the pile of messy dishes in the background. I obviously hadn't done the dishes yet when this pic was taken.)

Too many desserts. Do you like my centerpiece? (The glass bowl filled with dyed eggs!)

Matt filled in for me with my Wish Bone Tradition with Steff...

Matt won! He wished for a Roller Coaster in his front yard! LOL

The eggs...

This morning one of Lily's friends came over around 9 a.m. She told Matt and Lily that the Easter Bunny had come to her house and hid Easter eggs outside filled with chocolate and asked if they would like to help find the eggs. Of course, they were both thrilled and started getting ready immediately. Seconds later the friend's sister came over and said it was time to go to her aunt's house and the egg hunt would happen later in the afternoon. This news started World War III at our house. Tears and screaming tantrums erupted. But Matt had a great idea...he could fill the plastic eggs we were using as decorations and Dad could hide them outside for Matt and Lily to find. So, we had our own little Saturday morning impromtu Easter egg hunt outside of our house today.

I love the contrast of the bright blue egg against the faded, peeling birch tree in this pic...

Another one I like...although I wish I had changed the depth of field so that the background was a bit more blurred, but I was in a hurry to take the pic before they spotted this egg...

Good thinking, Matt! At least it will hold them over until their friend gets back home and the hunt can continue. Then, the Easter Bunny will be visiting our house again tonight after everyone goes to sleep so that he can hide the real eggs we painted yesterday! So much fun!

A Glimpse Into My Life

For those of you who know me well, you will understand how this short little video clip, incapsulates my life so well. You get to see my sweet, sensitive little boy, doing what he does best (crying), my baby who has learned to spit her food at me during dinner time and my middle child with a boxing glove on her hand! LOL All of this happened in under a minute while I was feeding the baby and cooking dinner, waiting for Daddy to come home from work! LOL :)

More Good Hair????

Lily brought home this wig from a birthday party this past weekend, and we thought it would be funny to put it on Zoey.

Look out, Hannah's Zoey Montoey!

Good hair

Okay, I had been complaining that I didn't like my hair in the pics from the Heart of Gold Gala, but this one was taken by a professional photographer: Natalie Prosser ( and I think my hair looks good in this pic~!
