2009 Heart of Gold Gala

The 8th annual Heart of Gold Gala was held this past weekend at Georgio's in Orland Park. This year I was the co-Chair of the entire event. It was many many hours of planning and preparation, but it was certainly worth every second. The money raised will benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation which supplies toys and gift certificates to children going through painful chemotherapy and radation treatments and other procedures as a means of comfort and as a reward for their bravery! Here are a few pics of this glorious event...

Here are the Auction Committee Chairpersons: Carrie and Flavia
My BFF, Mary, who won the Split the Pot!! Hooray!!!

This was our honorary chair, Jake, who was honored during the evening for his bravery in battling cancer. Jake lost an eye due to cancer, and is currently in remission! Jake and his brother had fun rolling on the dance floor after they received an awesome gift from our committee: Tickets for an overnight stay at Coco Key Water Resort and tickets to meet Thomas the Tank Engine at Thomas' Day Out!

My BFFS: Mary, Jen and me

Tracy and me

My Saucedo girls: me, Johonna, Dawn, Sarah and Heather

The raffle babes. Each year that I have volunteered for the gala, I have been in charge of obtaining volunteers for the event. My sisters have always generously donated their time, talents and friends. This year was no different. Steff (tall one with the strapless dress) and her friends helped sell raffle tickets on the floor and did a great job!

Here is the Raffle table, filled with awesome prizes, including a Dyson Slim vaccuum, Cubs and Sox tickets, and tons of baskets from different local establishments!! My other sister, Jackie, and her friends helped to run the raffle table for me!

It was a fabulous event and we already cannot wait until next year!

Growing More...Day by Day...

I took these photos yesterday of my precious little angel, Zoey. She wasn't incredibly cooperative as you can see, but as you read more you'll understand why...
She hasn't mastered the skill of holding her head up yet, but she has come a long way, baby!

Little Zuzu is growing bigger every day. She is such a sweet, little baby. She is a perfect little angel. She is beginning to eat cereal and some baby vegetables. She still sleeps 12 hours through the night, straight through! I took these pics of her yesterday while she was feeling slightly under the weather, so the glimmer in her eye might not be as sparkly as usual!

Here are my two girls. I'm so lucky that they both inherited blue eyes from their grandparents, although Mommy and Daddy got stuck with green eyes!
