Pumpkins '08

This year Lily did not want to participate in the pumpking carving tradition. She took one smell of the insides of a pumpkin and ran off! So, Jack did the honors this year. He carved one boy Jack O' Lantern, one girl Jack O' Lantern and he let Matt draw a face on the little gourd. We stuck some silly eyes in all of the pumpkins...just for fun!

Donating for a Cause

So, I've decided to donate my cord blood and placenta. After delivery, the umbilical cord and placenta are no longer needed and are often discarded. But the blood remaining in the umbilical cord and placenta is rich with blood-forming stem cells. These healthy blood-forming cells can be collected and stored so they can be used by a patient who needs them. It is frozen and stored in a bank and can be used later to help a child who is diagnosed with Lymphoma, Leukemia, Cancer or other life-threatening diseases. It warms my heart to know that I might be able to help a child who needs a bone marrow transplant and could possibly save that life!

Pumpkin Patch

We love going to the Pumpkin Patch every year! This year we went to Sonny Acre Farms in St. Charles, Illinois. Entrance is free to this patch. You only have to pay for tickets to ride the rides! The kids love the pony rides, jumpers, and the train. Lily especially loves to feed the goats, sheep and other animals. Matt likes the scary stuff and the fast, spinning rides!

Here are a few layouts documenting our fun!

First Lost Tooth

How exciting! It's our first lost tooth! Of course, it didn't come out the natural way! About a week ago, Matt and Lily were fighting. He had something in his mouth. She yanked it out, and loosened a tooth along with it. He wiggled the tooth for about a week straight, until finally it popped out while he was at school. The nurse gave him a cool tooth holder for the tooth to wear around his neck! His classmates cheered for his success! Matt put it under his pillow, and what do you know? The Tooth Fairy brought him five whole bucks! WOW! Inflation is pretty crazy nowadays. I remember getting a quarter for my teeth!

Oh, and by the way, don't mind the crazy hair-do. This was a few hours before a major haircut!

Kraft Girl Kits

My friend, Pam, who lives in Florida has just begun her own Scrapbook Kit Club called Kraft Girl Kits! I subscribed to the first kit and look at the fun things I was able to create using only elements from her kit:

You can order your own kit by going to the website:

This one is not using the kit elements. This is my new Basic Grey Granola. I love the colors. I was in the mood for some hand stitching. (I'm a glutton for punishment!) Thanks for loooking!
